New York | February 17, 2023: Pop music is always framed as a happy, shake a leg, bop around genre in everyday life, but it sometimes can even mean something deep, beautiful and realistic. That’s how HARIZ treats his new release “Break Up Season”.  The 25-year-old Los Angeles based singer creates an abstract composition of his experiences of love he’s come across in his life, offering a peek into his heartfelt songwriting.

Embracing the autonomy of trust of a man trying to understand his worth, HARIZ channels all of that in his music which you certainly can see shine through it. By ditching the formula of romanticizing love he pushes towards the other side of being in a relationship the more mature side, the side of trust, faith and his quest for understanding it even better.

HARIZ has described his new single as “Trust is the basis of any relationship, and once it's lost it's really hard to get back and open yourself up to trust that person again”. An accurate assessment of what he really wants his song to sound like and mostly feel like in a very assuring way. Trying to map his way out of his thoughts and speaking his heart out, it’s the only time we can see him indulge in exploring his thoughts without worrying. He devotes himself to reality making love and relationships feel as real as they get.

HARIZ is an extremely competent musician, “I Don’t Trust You Yet”, accounts for that. It starts with him singing along over beautifully arranged electric guitar chords, that slowly builds on with the drums, drizzled with modern pop music, swing and punch like they should sound, guided by powerful bass holding everything like glue. With small keys and synths hidden in parts like candy elements. His melodies are simple, pure, effortless and robust with a hint of yearning and tenderness. Everything about his music radiates sterling heartfelt emotions.

He adds, “When you listen, I hope you realize that someone else understands what you might be going through,” he leaves off. “So many people don’t feel heard. As long as you can feel heard in my songs, that’s all I’m asking for.”  HARIZ is a very interesting musician touting clever lyricism, uplifting energy, and dynamic delivery backed by a lifetime of classical training and impressive instrumental chops, his three-dimensional approach moves bodies, provokes thoughts, and connects hearts as evidenced by millions of streams and a growing number of accolades.

At 17, HARIZ achieved the “Highest Tier of National Ranking” from the Classical Musical Association. After years of quietly sharpening a signature style, he became the 2016 recipient of the ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Award in Pop Music. A year later, he unveiled his breakthrough single “OVRBRD.” It organically occupied real estate on top playlists and racked up over 3 million cumulative Spotify streams between the original version and the Zookëper remix in addition to receiving early acclaim from The Line of Best Fit, EARMILK, YourEDM, Dancing Astronaut, and more.
